30 Jan I usually do a PTR form. Will I get one this year?
Photo: pixabay.comQ. In the past, around this time of the year, I’d file the PTR-1 form to get a Senior Freeze refund. Last year I also filed the new PAS-1. I’m a little confused and can’t seem to find an answer. Has the PTR-1 gone away and been totally replaced by the PAS-1 and, if so, when will that need to be filed again and when can I expect a refund for my 2025 property taxes for the Freeze?

A. Great question.
The new PAS-1 covers the Senior Freeze, ANCHOR and the new Stay NJ benefit.
It will need to be completed every year, the Treasury Department said.
The next benefit year will be for 2025, but applications won’t be available until well after the state budget is completed. The deadline for the budget, which funds the property tax benefits annually, is July 1
Changes could be made in the budget, but we expect the payment schedule will be similar to what the state has done with the 2024 tax year.
