Q. How does the money from PAS-1 get issued? A one-time check or direct deposit?
— Homeowner

A. PAS-1 is the new combined application for the state’s property tax benefits. It includes ANCHOR, Senior Freeze and Stay NJ.

Each payment will come at a different time, according to the Treasury Department.

It said will begin sending payments on a rolling basis in July — first, the state budget has to be passed to fund the benefits, and that deadline is July 1. ANCHOR will come first, followed by the Senior Freeze, and if you’re eligible, the Stay NJ part of the payment is not expected until early 2026.

The state will send letters in “late 2025″ to explain how your benefits were calculated, it said.

As for how you will get the benefit, if you signed up for direct deposit, that’s how it will come. If you didn’t, you can expect to receive checks for each benefit.

Stay tuned: On June 23, NJ.com will have a new Stay NJ calculator to help you determine your expected benefit under the plan.

And if you haven’t filed yet, you can find the application at propertytaxreliefapp.nj.gov.
