Q. I received my ANCHOR payment of $1,500. I thought we were supposed to get $1,750. My husband is 65 and I am 67.
— Homeowner

A. Whether or not it was correct will depend on your birth dates.

The ANCHOR has a $250 higher benefit from the year before for those who are 65 and older.

Homeowners who are 65 or older and earn $150,000 or less will receive $1,750. Those over age 65 who earn between $150,001 and $250,000 will receive $1,250.

Homeowners under the age of 65 who earn $150,000 or less will receive $1,500. Those who earn between $150,001 and $250,000 will receive $1,000.

Renters who are age 65 or older and earn $150,000 or less will receive $700. Those under 65 who earn $150,000 or less will receive $450.

They key, though, is that you had to be 65 by Jan. 1, 2021 to be eligible for the higher 2020 ANCHOR benefit.
