Q. Can you recommend a list of good, reputable and reasonably-priced estate attorneys?
— Planning

A. Thank you for the question.

We don’t make direct recommendations. It’s not that we don’t have professionals that we trust, but we simply don’t play favorites here.

But there are many ways to find a competent professional.

The place to start is with your family and friends. If people in your circle have used an estate planning attorney, you can hear about their first-hand experiences and consider trying the professionals they have used before.

You can also search for attorneys on several websites.

A great place to start is the New Jersey chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.

You can also try your local bar association.

Then there are other online platforms, such as Martindale-Hubble, FindLaw, SuperLawyers and Lawyers.com.

Good luck in your search.
