Q. How can I change my bank account for the ANCHOR benefit?

A. You’ll have to wait for the 2021 ANCHOR filing season to officially begin.

We expect that to be by mid-August or so.

At that time, when you file your application, you can give the correct information.

If your application is automatically filed for you, or if your direct deposit information changed after filing, you can call (888) 238-1233 or make an in-person visit and a paper check will be issued instead of direct deposit, the Treasury Department said.

Last year, people were able to make the change by logging in to the ANCHOR website. We expect that may be possible this year too, but we won’t know anything for sure until the website goes live.
