Q. My application has been on file since Sept. 6 and I have not received my ANCHOR check. Is that normal or am I one of the ones that is going to have to wait till next year for my check?
— Waiting

A. We’re sorry you haven’t received your ANCHOR benefit yet.

There’s not necessarily a reason to worry — at least not yet.

The state Treasury Department started sending out payments on Sept. 15, and they will continue to go out on a rolling basis.

It said folks will “usually” receive their payments within 90 days of filing.

So you have some more time to wait.

Some people may face delays if something on their application is wrong or needs a little investigation.

You can check the status of your benefit on the state website at propertytaxreliefstatus.nj.gov or email if you have questions.

You can also call the hotline at (888) 238-1233 Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
