19 Dec I’m a senior. Is there help for getting a new boiler?
Photo: pixabay.comQ. I am a senior citizen. The boiler for my home needs to be replaced to the tune of approximately $13,000. Is there any assistance available?

A. Boy, that’s expensive.
First, before you buy any new appliance for your home, get at least three estimates.
Some companies are simply super expensive, and you may be able to find a better deal if you shop around.
Also check with your utility. Its website will list products that are eligible for rebates through Energy Star, which will make the cost more manageable.
You may also be eligible for financing through your utility. https://www.neifund.org/jcpl-residential/
Depending on your income, you may be eligible for help through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). You can learn more about that here or call (800) 510-3102
