02 Oct How can I check on my property tax benefits?
Photo: pixabay.comQ. My wife and I filed the combined PAS-1 application by certified mail on Sept. 2, 2025. How can we verify that the application is being processed? And if additional information is required, does it have to be provided by the Oct. 31 deadline?

A. The state provides a few tools for you to check on your property tax application.
For the Senior Freeze, you can go here.
For ANCHOR, you can check here.
There is no benefit check tool available for Stay NJ, but that won’t be paid out until early 2026.
You can also try calling the hotline at (888) 238-1233 but we know it can be hard to get through.
You should receive a letter in December detailing how your benefits were calculated.
As for what happens if additional information is needed, the state previously did not require that by the deadline as long as the initial application was filed on time. Missing information, though, will delay the payment of your benefits.
