30 Jun Do I have to reapply for the ANCHOR benefit?
Photo: pixabay.comQ. Do you have to reapply for the benefit using the new combined program application if you have received ANCHOR payments in the past?
— Homeowner
A. Maybe.
First, the new combined application, PAS-1, covers ANCHOR, Senior Freeze and Stay NJ — but only for homeowners who are 65 and older or those who receive Social Security Disability benefits.
If you’re a renter of any age, or a homeowner under age 65, this isn’t the application for you.
The state said it will unveil a new application for those folks later this summer.
Now, if you received ANCHOR in the past, do you need to apply again?
Here comes the maybe.
The state will send letters to those whose applications have been filed automatically by the state. Again, this will be later this summer.
If you don’t receive that letter, you will have to apply.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 31, 2025. You can find the application at propertytaxreliefapp.nj.gov.
