Q. I received my application for Senior Freeze — the combined application. However, I will not qualify for anything except the ANCHOR benefit since I don’t own my home as of Oct. 2, 2024. I still file that form, it’s a combo? I don’t need the Senior Freeze part anymore but it looks like they may not understand I still qualify for full ANCHOR benefits as a homeowner for 2024. What do I do?

A. While the Treasury Department will release a separate application for those who will only receive the ANCHOR benefit, it said you should still complete the combined application.

“If the taxpayer was age 65 or over or receiving Social Security disability payments during the 2024 tax year they should file the PAS-1 application,” it said. “The form guides applicants to complete only the sections relevant to their living situation.”

So based on the information on the form, and its own records, the state will only pay out the benefit for which you’re qualified.
