Q. When can I apply for the 2023 Senior Freeze?
— Taxed enough

A. Great question.

Now that the ANCHOR benefit deadline has passed, eligible homeowners should remember to keep their eyes out for the 2023 Senior Freeze application.

The Senior Freeze reimburses eligible senior citizens and disabled persons for property tax or mobile home park site fee increases on their principal residence.

To qualify, you must meet all the eligibility requirements for each year from the base year through the application year.

There are new requirements for this next application.

The income limit for the program increases to $150,000 and the requirement that an applicant must be a New Jersey resident for 10 consecutive years was eliminated, the Treasury Department said.

The age/disability and three-year homeownership requirements remain unchanged, it said.

So when can you apply?

Senior Freeze applications will be available in February, the Treasury Department said.

So stay tuned!
