Q. When can I get the next ANCHOR property tax benefit?

A. The ANCHOR property tax benefit was paid out earlier this spring and covers the 2019 benefit year.

It replaced the Homestead Benefit, and like that benefit, ANCHOR runs a few years behind.

As for the 2020 benefit, we expect there will be one, but it’s not 100% yet.

As part of his budget, Gov. Phil Murphy asked for $2 billion to fund ANCHOR for the 2020 year, but the budget hasn’t been finalized yet. A final plan must be in place by the end of June.

The 2019 ANCHOR benefit applications were available in October, so there’s a good change it will be the same for the next year’s benefit.
