Q. I changed my bank account. What will happen to my ANCHOR payment?
— Homeowner

A. Good timing.

The ANCHOR property tax program will send a payment to qualifying homeowners and renters in the late spring.

You have until Feb. 28 to complete your application.

But because the applications were made available last fall, some people have moved or changed their bank account information, wondering what they can do to make sure they don’t miss the payment.

It’s been near impossible to get through to the ANCHOR program on the phone,

And this:

“The Division of Taxation is not responsible for a lost benefit if you enter the wrong account information for a direct deposit,” the agency says on its website.

So you need to somehow get through to the Division of Taxation with your new information.

The Treasury Department said you can fax or email in a request. You must provide your name, Social Security number, both the incorrect and correct banking information and a copy of your government-issued ID, she said.

You can fax the request to is (609) 633-6444 or email it to .

If submitting by email, you should only include the last four digits of your Social Security number.

To change your address, first complete Taxation’s change of address form.

Then can fax it to (609) 292-4276 or mail it to the N.J. Division of Taxation, PO Box 440, Trenton NJ 08646-0440. You can also upload it to the agency’s website.

Another option is to upload the form via the agency’s website.

Email your questions to .
