Q. Does eBay report sales of under $20,000 to the state of New Jersey?

— Seller

A. According to eBay’s website, if you’re a managed seller, you may receive a Form 1099-K from the company depending on your total sales and transactions.

You should have received this form by Jan. 31 if you had more than $20,000 in gross payments and more than 200 payment transactions, it said.

But eBay also follows the minimum reporting thresholds required by each state.

For New Jersey, that amount is $1,000 in gross payments with no threshold on the number of transactions, the website said.

You can also download Form 1099-K in the eBay Seller Hub.
