Q. The standard deduction in 2017 was increased for age, the blind or disabled. Are there increases for 2018 also?
— Taxpayer

A. Nope.

The standard deduction has been increased to $24,000 for married/joint filers, $18,000 for heads of households and $12,000 for all other taxpayers, said Steven Holt, an attorney and chair of the taxation, trusts and estates department at Mandelbaum Salsburg in Roseland.

“There were no increases for 2018 in the additional standard deduction for the elderly and blind,” he said.
