When a newlywed couple was stuck without a ride home from the airport, they decided to book an Uber. A driver rode up to the couple, claiming to be their Uber, but he was an impersonator. The couple was shocked when the driver charged hundreds of dollars more than the ride was supposed to cost. You can see more of the ugly details in this Bamboozled column on NJ.com.
And now, an update: In June, New York City’s Taxi and Limousine Commission announced that it had revoked the driver’s license and he’s been fined thousands of dollars.
