Parents all want what’s best for their babies, and a safe and comfortable sleep is a big part of that. But is your baby’s mattress safe?

Keeping Babies Safe, a nonprofit that advocates safe sleep for babies, says there’s a big loophole in guidelines for some sleep products. It says mattresses and pads are being marketed for play yards and bassinets, but the products go against the warnings given by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and others — warnings that are printed on the play yards and bassinets. CPSC recommends parents only use the mattresses and pads that come with play yards and bassinets — not ones made by third party companies.
