“Tax Freedom Day” is getting a little farther away for New Jerseyans.
We’ll have to work until May 13 to earn the cash we need to pay off our tax bills, according to an annual report by the Tax Foundation. Last year, May 9 was the state’s “Tax Freedom Day.”
That compares to an average “Tax Freedom Day” of April 24 for the rest of the nation.
And once again, New Jersey has the highest tax burden in the country.
Unfortunately, that’s no April Fools’ joke.
