$18,000 Expedia customer service mess

Air travel to anywhere for three people can be costly. And flights get cancelled all the time.

But when one woman paid more than $18,000 to Expedia.com for flights to Sri Lanka, and one of the flights was cancelled, she said she couldn’t get anyone at the company to help her.

The Star-Ledger’s Bamboozled column reports the tale of customer service woe, in which the would-be traveler said she tried to get through the Expedia more than a dozen times, only to be disconnected on her calls before she could get help or clear answers.

Bamboozled helped the woman get a full refund.
