35 N.J. home improvement companies cited for funny business

The New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs has cited 35 home improvement contractors for violations.

According to a report on NJ.com, the violations included not completing work on jobs that had been paid for in advance and failing to refund deposits requested by customers.

The state is asking for $438,176 in customer restitution and $129,500 in civil penalties.

The report said in 2014, 130 contractors were cited for violations that added up to more than $2.1 million.
