15 Sep My bank account changed. What happens with ANCHOR?

Q. My bank account number has changed. How do I receive my ANCHOR payment?

A. The state has already started sending out ANCHOR benefits. About 300,000 payments went out last week.

Hopefully yours was not one of them.

The state previously said people who needed to change their banking information had to do it by Sept. 15.

It’s possible that the state already tried to send your direct deposit. If it did, it will probably eventually send a check.

But to make sure this is corrected, and so you don’t need to wait, you should call the ANCHOR hotline — we know, it’s hard to get through — at (888) 238-1233.
