Q. How do we get information on senior housing?
— Trying to learn

A. There are many options for senior housing.

There are many resources to help you in your search, depending on exactly the kind of assistance you need.

The State of New Jersey Department of Human Services website would be a good place to start. The site has a list of housing options along with links to area agencies and a guide to affordable housing.

In addition, under the “Get Assistance” tab at this site, you will find a list of all of the County Offices on Aging.

The county agencies provide information and support services, including for housing.

The toll free number to the Area Agency for Aging is (877) 222-3737.

The website also has a link to the New Jersey Housing Resource Center, which provides information on affordable and accessible housing in the state, she said. That number is (877) 428-8844

You should also check your town’s website or call your town hall. They may be able to provide senior housing, or have a town agency that specifically helps seniors with affordable housing.
