A driveway contractor has promised to fix a $2,500 faulty job by the spring.

After the problem job was featured in the Bamboozled column, the owner stepped up and sent the homeowner, Joan Krotenberg, a letter promising to re-do the job by March 2015.

Krotenberg, who had complained to Consumer Affairs, received a letter from the company’s attorney via the Consumer Affairs mediator. In the letter, the contractor agreed to fix the job, but he refused to put $2,500 in an escrow account — and insurance policy requested by Krotenberg, which would have allowed her to get a refund if the job wasn’t completed.
