How to get rid of robocalls

No one likes those automated telemarketing calls, and it seems the Do Not Call Registry isn’t always effective against some marketers, and even scammers, who don’t care much for following government regulations.

According to today’s Bamboozled column in The Star-Ledger, one reader found an answer: a service called NoMoRobo.

The service uses technology to identify calls that are of the offensive kind, and it blocks them for you. Other automated calls, like ones from your doctor or pharmacy or school, are apparently not blocked.

Nomorobo was created by a developer who entered the service into a contest held by the Federal Trade Commission, which tasked consumers to come up with ways to stop annoying and illegal phone calls.

Sounds worth a try!
