Frank W. Abagnale is one of the world’s most respected authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. Now, he’s joined forces with the AARP Fraud Watch Network to help consumers learn how to spot and avoid scams, and he’s bringing his years of experience to the Garden State!

Between the ages of 16 and 21, Frank Abagnale successfully posed as an airplane pilot, an attorney, and a doctor, all while cashing millions in fraudulent checks. In case you didn’t read his best-selling book…spoiler alert… he got caught and his exploits were depicted in the movie Catch Me If You Can starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

For over 40 years now, Mr. Abagnale has advised the FBI on how to outsmart con artists. More than 14,000 financial institutions, corporations and law enforcement agencies use his fraud prevention programs. In 1998, he was selected as a distinguished member of “Pinnacle 400” by CNN Financial News – a select group of 400 people chosen on the basis of great accomplishment and success in their fields. In 2004, Mr. Abagnale was selected as the spokesperson for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA).

Join the AARP Fraud Watch Network for a presentation by Frank W Abagnale Tuesday, December 6th, 2016 in Edison NJ at the Ellora Banquet Hall. Doors will open at 5:30pm for refreshments and a chance to connect with local NJ organizations to learn about resources available here at home to help fight identity theft and fraud. Frank’s presentation starts at 6:45pm. The event is free. His advice is invaluable. This free event is open to the public but registration is required. For more details and to register click here.
