Sneaky! Robocalls from the government?

Nobody likes robocalls, and just about everyone wants to stop them.

Except for somebody working with Congress on the federal budget.

That’s right. Somewhere in the middle of all the numbers, there’s apparently language that would allow the federal government debt collectors to use robocalls.

As reported by Consumerist.com, “Federal law currently prohibits non-emergency robocalls to cellphones unless the recipient has given their prior express consent to receive automated pre-recorded calls.”

But with this new budget, those debt collectors would be exempt.

Want to fight this? We hope so. See the details on this awful story, and what you an do about it, on Consumerist.com.
