Changes to NJ’s ‘Do Not Call’ law

Sometimes laws are changed for the good of consumers.

And sometimes they’re not.

Case in point? A new bill changes the old law in New Jersey, which didn’t allow telemarketers to call cell phones in New Jersey.  Now, Gov. Chris Christie’s signature gives telemarketers some more breathing room.

They can now place calls to cell phones, but only if the caller has an existing relationship with the consumer.

Now, few consumers probably have relationships with telemarketing companies, but still… Who needs telemarketing calls to cell phones?

You can register your number with the National Do Not Call Registry here.
